Danielle Vargas:
A dedicated trainer and energetic cardio kickboxing instructor, Danielle is great at inspiring her clients and takes pride in pushing them past their barriers. She has been a fitness enthusiast and athlete her entire life and continues to challenge herself by training new styles of martial arts and fitness including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Capoeira. Her health and fitness education makes her a knowledgeable and detailed oriented trainer and instructor. Danielle’s cardio classes involve skipping rope, a vigorous warm-up, body sculpting, bag and mitt work, and a concentrated stretch.
Danielle is open to suggestions, willing to work on specific requests and welcomes new clientele. If you are interested in intense body sculpting and diversified training, she is the trainer for you!

David Bensimon:
A trainer who loves to push his students to the next level while wearing a smile, David Bensimon is a talented martial artist and dedicated teacher. He an assistant instructor of Bruce Lee’s martial arts system Jeet Kune Do and combines its techniques with a variety of kickboxing styles and intensive conditioning exercises to redefine your body and spirit. To keep things fresh, David employs diverse training tools such as focus mitts, heavy bags, kick shields and works both with partners and one on one with clients. In his class, between each kickboxing round there is a session of callisthenic exercises emphasizing sculpting and strengthening. Although no class is the same, there is one constant, a ten minute Abdominal/Core session at the conclusion of each session. Strengthening the core and lower back is essential to injury prevention and functional fitness.

Fransini Gilardo: A native of Colombia who moved to the U.S. 15 years ago looking to fulfill her dream of becoming a professional dancer, choreographer and instructor, Fransini is now living that aspiration to the fullest. She now works with multiple dance companies, shows and studios in addition to doing TV segments and special exhibitions for organizations like the California Milk Advisory Board promoting a healthier lifestyle through dance, exercise and better diet.
Born into the Salsa rhythm in South America, once in Los Angeles, Fransini had the opportunity to combine the local “L.A Style” with her mastery of “salsa arrebata” – a style known for its high-speed footwork which is famous in her native Cali, Colombia. Later, searching for a new challenge, Fransini discovered Samba six years ago and it was “Love at First Shake.” Since then she has focused her energies on studying, breaking down and integrating Samba into her fitness routines and choreographies. The popularity of her classes and shows are the only proof necessary that the result has been an absolute success.
At XTC Fransini teaches Zumba, Samba, and Body Sculpting,all are phenomenal workouts, trying one of her classes is a must.

Fernando Reis was born June 12, 1979 in Sao Paulo Brazil. He began practicing Martial Arts at the age of 8 but at the age of 19 Jiu-Jitsu crossed his way. He has been training for almost 10 years and has been instructing for 5 of them. It has been his life long passion. At the beginning was part of Nilson Liboni Team, under the instruction f Marco Aurelio (China), the second biggest team in Sao Paulo, where he got his blue belt. After that he was part of Sergio Lisboa Team, under the instruction of Juninho, where he got his purple belt.
He moved to Los Angeles, California in March 2005 through a business program at UCLA but once again Jiu-Jitsu crossed his path, a few days later he joined the Jiu-Jitsu program and after only a couple of classes he was invited to become an instructor. As a very experienced purple belt he aided several students quarter after quarter. After one year teaching at UCLA he was invited to by Fabiano Iha, a former MMA fighter to be one of the instructors at XTC Extreme Training Center located in Eagle Rock, California where under his instructor he earned his brown belt. After Fabianos departure, Fernando became fully responsible for the Jiu-Jitsu classes there.
Striving to further his career he joined Jean Jacques Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Team, and soon made XTC a official affiliate of J.J. Machado.
He has competed in many tournaments in Brazil and US and accumulated the total of 12 bronze medals, 10 silver and 10 gold.
One of his favorite quotes is: “If I had eight hours to cut down a tree, I’d spend six sharpening my axe”.

George Giovanis started boxing at the young age of 12 where he became a member of Rhode Island Boxing. This east coast gym was the home of legendary five time world champion Vinny Pazienza. During his many years training, George learned the importance of belonging to a gym environment, acquired the discipline to excel and experience to teach. As time passed, George’s interests expanded into Kickboxing and Muay Thai. He devoted many years to these sports and he fought out of the Sampalis Kickboxing Academy where he helped train professional fighters. In his spare time, George also made three feature films that went on to screen at various film festivals and win many accolades by critics and judges alike. He moved to California in search of the sun and the pursuits of all his passions. He happily works at XTC Gym. George loves to see his students mature, hour by hour and week by week - while they achieve their own personal fitness goals, and gain the knowledge of applicable self-defense.

Jessica Carla de Lima-Moran AKA “Pavão,” has been a Capoeirista for 13 years, training and teaching under world-renowned Capoeira master, Mestre Boneco of Capoeira Brasil Los Angeles (CBLA). Instrutora Pavão teaches at the CBLA headquarters in Mid-City, at XTC Training Center and Highland Park Recreation both in Northeast Los Angeles. In addition to teaching and performing with CBLA, she produces the group's annual International Capoeira Festival, works as the CBLA communications director, and travels extensively teaching and training the art of Capoeira. With her husband and teaching partner, Instrutor Chegado, she has written an educational play about Capoeira and is currently working with the non-profit Benção Brasil Cultural Center teaching youth and working with families in economically challenged neighborhoods. Pavão has also worked as Regional Coordinator for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's nationally recognized Summer Night Lights program, a project of the Gang Reduction Youth Development (GRYD) office.
Instrutora Pavão has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California at Berkeley. She received her Capoeira instructorship and was awarded her green cord under Mestre Boneco in September 2008.

Sean Anthony Moran:
AKA “Chegado,” has been involved in the Capoeira community for 13 years. He trains and teaches under the guidance of world-renowned master, Mestre Boneco of Capoeira Brasil Los Angeles (CBLA). Instrutor Chegado travels and performs regularly with CBLA and works as the group’s production manager. Locally, he teaches at the Xtreme Training Center in Eagle Rock, at the CBLA headquarters in Mid-City, and Highland Park Recreation. In addition to Capoeira, Sean is also a classically trained actor, veteran of Will & Company, a multicultural Shakespearean theatre group and a touring facilitator for Playfair Inc.
Instrutor Chegado is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has worked on many TV, commercial and film projects as both an actor, stuntman, and stunt choreographer. He received his Capoeira instructorship and was awarded his green cord by Mestre Boneco in September 2008.
Chegado can be seen as Private Sean Fike in James Cameron’s 2009 release, “Avatar” and also on the 2009 season of "Design To Sell" on HGTV. Currently, he focuses his energy on his training, teaching his students in Northeast LA, and traveling to Capoeira conferences and events around the world.

Johnny Jackson:
Is a life-long student of martial arts and an experienced Muay Thai Kickboxing instructor. He has been teaching at XTC for 6 years and is known for working his students in a traditional Muay Thai fashion. His classes are challenging and intense.

Maggie Baird: Discovered the aerial world when she attended a Focusfish class with her young children and quickly became obsessed with doing and promoting the art herself. After a lifetime of Dance and Sports , she found that the aerial world was the perfect combination of both for her. An intense workout as well as a beautiful art form. As an instructor she strives to make her classes fun, challenging and a great workout supported with good music. Maggie organizes and co-teaches the Wed. morning Homeschool classes and often fills in for instructors at XTC and elsewhere.
